TROLLEYS and SPECIAL SEATING

1.) The March for Women’s Lives will have open-air trolleys at the front of the March to transport people through the March route who otherwise could not participate. During the morning rally we will announce when the trolleys will board in front of the National Museum of American History (between 14th and 12th streets). The March will do its best to reserve a sufficient number of trolleys to meet demand. Trolley seats should be reserved only by those who really need them.

You can reserve trolley seats by using one of these two methods:

a. If you are part of a DELEGATION (an officially registered group of 20 or more marchers) have your delegation coordinator log on the March website at WWW.MARCHFORWOMEN.ORG , click on “Form a Delegation”, and adjust the delegation form to indicate the total number of members who will ‘require alternative transportation’ (trolley).

b. If you are NOT part of an official delegation please send an e-mail (with subject line: “Trolley”) to [email protected]. Please include your name and contact information. If you do not have e-mail, you may also reserve a trolley seat by contacting the March Staff via telephone at 202-349-3838.

2) The afternoon rally is on the National Mall, and the route will be somewhat semi-circular. At many points along the route, it will be quicker to rest a while and simply head back to the Mall than to wait for the trolley. This will ONLY mean walking a few blocks to get back to the Mall where the rally will take place. There will be many volunteers lining the March route to point the way.

3) Attendees are encouraged to bring their own wheelchairs—and someone to push them along the route—if necessary. Wheelchairs may be a preferable alternative to using trolleys or special seating because groups need not be separated. The entire route will be wheelchair-accessible.

4) There will be special seating provided at the afternoon rally for those who cannot stand.

You can reserve special seating by using one of these two methods:

a. If you are part of a DELEGATION (an officially registered group of 20 or more marchers) have your delegation coordinator log on the March website at WWW.MARCHFORWOMEN.ORG , click on “Form a Delegation”, and adjust the delegation form to indicate the total number who will need special seating at the March.

b. If you are NOT part of an official delegation please send an e-mail (with subject line: “Special Seating”) to [email protected]. Please include your name and contact information. You may also reserve special seating by contacting the March Staff via telephone at 202-349-3838.

5) Please indicate on your delegation form or contact the March Office to let us know if you need to view ASL interpreters.

6) As the March date nears we will provide more specific information with detailed instructions for what to do and where to go on the day of the event.

BUSSING INFORMATION/PARKING

  1. Upon arrival of your bus to RFK Stadium you will be given specific information so you will be able to find your bus at the end of the March should you become separated from your delegation or group during the day.
  2. The Metro is fully accessible, there are elevators located at street level that will take persons directly to the station concourse.
  3. Metro farecards SHOULD be purchased in advance because it will save a lot of time when you are all trying to get to the March Assembly. You can order Metro farecards by going to this link: HTTP://WWW.MARCHFORWOMEN.ORG/TRAVEL.

MISCELLANEOUS

  1. We will be providing ASL interpreters for both the morning and afternoon rallies.
  2. The Mall will be lined with large speakers and JumboTron video screens so that all attendees will be able to hear the morning and afternoon programs.
  3. Portable restroom facilities will be available on the Mall, many of which will be wheelchair accessible.

NOTE: The March will NOT be taking special requests on where you would like to have your delegation located as we are unable to accommodate these requests. The March will also not be announcing the location of delegations until the day of the March. You will be able to find your delegation on the day of the March by locating one of the many volunteers who will be located along the perimeter of the National Mall and provide them with your delegation name and they will tell you where your delegation is located.

If you are a member of a registered or soon-to-be registered delegation, make sure your delegation leader indicates your seating/transport needs on the online delegation form. If you are not part of a delegation and need seating on a trolley and/or at the rally, please contact the March Office at [email protected] with your name, contact info, and number of seats needed.
